In ALL, BITS by Alex

Over his lifetime, French artist and astronomer Étienne Leopold Trouvelot (1827-1895) created over 7000 illustrations based on his astronomical observations. His greatest works were published in 1882 as The Trouvelot Astronomical Drawings. Trouvelot’s work caught the attention of the Harvard College Observatory, where he was later invited to work. During his career he published more than 50 scientific papers, but remains best known for his stunning artworks depicting planets, constellations, and space. Today, The New York Public Library Digital Collections hosts Trouvelot’s drawings online with free access to the public.
