WORKS – Logophobia by Ginny Huo

In ALL, WORKS by Julia Krolik

Ginny Huo is a US based interdisciplinary artist. She creates performative installations and social sculptures. Her work Logophobia reaches beyond scientific terminology of phobias. Each open locker provides a glimpse into the overwhelming nature of anxiety disorders, often hidden to the public.

“Phobias found in the encyclopedia were compiled into an alphabetical list. The list included the scientific name and definition of each phobia. The list was then cut into strips with the name of the phobia and the definition. Each locker represents three letters of the alphabet, where the locker was lined with the list of the phobias. This piece addresses the overwhelming feeling and anxiety one feels when dealing with phobia.” – Ginny Huo
