How would you define it?

For me, SciArt refers to the use of artistic media, creativity, and visual tools to communicate science. It’s the place where the beauty of the scientific world can be expressed and seen from a different perspective. Even if the term is new, I think that artistic representations of science were, at least for biology, at the beginning of it, where the observation and the accurate representation of the living world were very important to describe and communicate discoveries.

For more by Sofía Polcowñuk, visit her Instagram, and LinkedIn.

*
Featured image: Female Drosophila by Sofía Polcowñuk
All images courtesy of the artist.

Share this Post

<a href="#share" data-x-element="extra" data-x-params="{"type":"tooltip","trigger":"hover","placement":"bottom","title":"","content":""}" class="x-share" title="Share on Facebook" onclick="window.open('http://www.facebook.com/sharer.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fartthescience.com%2Fmagazine%2Fwp-json%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fposts%2F12094&t=CREATORS+%E2%80%93+Sof%C3%ADa+Polcow%C3%B1uk', 'popupFacebook', 'width=650, height=270, resizable=0, toolbar=0, menubar=0, status=0, location=0, scrollbars=0');
