Dear ATS Community,
We are deeply saddened by the recent murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery, and we know that they are just a few of the countless Black individuals who have suffered due to racism and police brutality. We are committed to standing against the racial injustice that has plagued our society for far too long.
We have taken some time to listen, learn, and reflect on what we can do for the Black community. We will be focusing on uplifting Black creatives (artists, designers, illustrators) and scientists who are already active and/or highlighted on social media by sharing their work on our Twitter and Instagram accounts. We realize this is a small step, and moving forward, we are going to make conscientious decisions to feature and amplify the voices of Black individuals, Indigenous individuals, and other People of Colour on our platform. Diverse voices add immeasurable value to both art and science, and we fully believe that Black artists matter, Black scientists matter, and Black Lives Matter.
